Marketing Sherpa has posted an extremely in-depth article regarding Google Grants and how to get one. Aimed at assisting non-profit organisations, a Google Grant gives free advertising in Google Adwords creating a avenue to spread their message that may not have been part of a limited budget otherwise.
The grant is between $10,000 and $40,000 a month for adspace on the search engine’s results page. The program has been in operation since 2003 and in that time has donated almost $300 million in advertising to over 4,600 organisations.
Marketing Sherpa’s article, as mentioned above goes into great detail on the in’s and out’s of applying, including restrictions, for example participants must only use keywords that are relevant to their organisation… difficult for some I know, but I think managable…
Now, for the definition of a non-profit… do they mean intentionally not making a profit? I know, my application’s in the bin as well.
