High five grab and shake for our friends over at Google this morning! You know that’s saying a lot.

They’ve launched Placement Performance Reporting for content network traffic! It is being trialed by a segment of US advertisers. Hmm, US advertisers, nobody’s perfect, but will be rolling out to the masses in the next few weeks.

There are 4 big benefits here, read ‘em and weep:

  1. No more trolling through your web logs to find that damn site that is draining your budget…. not to mention we should now be rid of the old ‘pagead2.googlesyndication.com’ smoke screen referral. I love playing that site exclusion card…. once all optimising efforts have been exhausted of course.
  2. We can now see what sites are also converting for us, and target them with….wait for it, a site targeted campaign! Imagine that.
  3. As with any new report or tool that Google adds to their arsenal, it allows Adwords users to re-evaluate strategies and tackle new opportunities. With the Placement Performance Report, a previously blind bidding approach, which forced too much guess work, to be replaced with a more transparent system allowing for precise decision making.
  4. Massive time saver people! Nuff said….

Long time comin’…..
