Google, King of the Wireless World?

Google has proposed to offer Wi-Fi to San Francisco, that’s right, not to a Starbucks or even to UCLA, but to the entire Bay City! Oh Google you are taking over the world aren’t you.

There are a few concerns surrounding the concept though, mainly the privacy. Many are worried about Google tracking how people are using the interent, but hey if you don’t want Google to research the industry using your internet use, then go pay for it yourself. I think this is a good thing, and really, for the first time in a while, in my opinion, Google is all about a ‘better user experience’.

Now, I know that Google recently introduced Google Blog Search which Yahoo promptly responded to with the announcement of a blog search of their own, and we have all heard about Google’s controversial Digital Library attempt, which of course Yahoo also responded to with the announcement of their own Digital Library (minus the controversy), so how long do you think it will take for Yahoo to blanket an entire city with free wireless?! I guess, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Nic n Cher think that Google should next provide free wireless to an entire country, because really, how many UK’s can actually fit in San Fran?
