How much did I want this to be Glasgow University considering I am only a couple of streets over! Ah well it could be worse, it could be the University of Manitoba which is a couple of streets over from Ma & Pa’s in Winnipeg. Anyway, Abertay University in Dundee, Scotland is testing, in cooperation with Compliance Technology (a company based in Fife, Scotland) solar panels in streetlights to provide a free energy source not only for light but also for the Wi-Fi or WiMax connection. Sounds to me as though, Scotland should get some Google representation up here to slap the brand name on such a grand idea!
